Q1. Where did you get your first tattoo and do you know by who?
A. I used to work in a shop called "Paradise" that was here
in Roseburg, and his name is Brian Abbot.
Q2. What was going through your mind when you got your first tattoo?
A. "I gotta get this freaking done before the weekend is
over" (I wanted to go back to school with a half
sleeve....mission accomplished)
Q3. Is there a meaning behind your first tattoo and what is it if you
care to share?
A. When I was little my dad worked the night shift and he would
get home and set either a twice or recess next to my bed and I
would eat one and then set the other next to his bed when I would
leave for school. The day he left he set one Twix next to my bed
and the other was already gone.
Q4. What is your favorite tattoo, where is it and why?
A. My half sleeve is still my favorite, I only have one other
and its just a leopard print start on my tummy.
Q5. What advice can you give people who are looking to get ink for the
first time?
A. Don't look up on a freaking wall or in a binder and point at some
flash and say, "I want that!" Choose something that is you,
that means "you" and will for the rest of your life. Oh, and
no names of spouses....that is bad luck.
Q6. What is your inspiration behind your body art?
A. I just want to remember how bad I hurt, and how abadondoned I felt
when he was gone, because that's the worse I have ever felt, and I
still made it out okay. Life keeps on moving no matter what the
situation.
Q7. What would you say was your most memorable piece getting?
A. Well as special as my sleeve is to me, I think my star was a
memorable one. My best friend Jamie and I got matching ones but
with different colors. She was moving away to college soon, so
on her 18th birthday we drove out of town and got them.
Q8. Do you have any new ideas for any more work lined up?
A. I am getting ballet shoes on my lower back with the ribbons
wrapping around my sides, with a verse from the bible in them. I
have been a dancer since I was two and hopefully it will be something
that I can do for the rest of my life.
Q9. Who was your favorite artist that has tattooed you? Plus what did
they do.
A. Brian Abbott was great, I loved working with him and his
wife.
Q10. Do you like staying with one artist or do you like trying to
go to new artist each time?
A. I would love to stay with just Brian, but he moved away and started
at a new shop.
