BAW: What made you want to become a Tattoo Artist?
Artist: I wanted to be a starving artist...minus the starving part.
BAW: Who are your influences?
Artist: my boyfriend/partner in crime Roger, Donny Cox, and fellow
artists...alive and dead
BAW: What is your favorite style of work?
Artist: traditional Americana and gray-wash
BAW: Tell us about your first Tattoo experience?
Artist: I told my daddy I liked them and he said they were for bikers
and whores.
BAW: What is your favorite piece you own?
Artist: I don't pick favorites...tattoos have feelings too.
BAW: What is your most memorable Tattoo given and why?
Artist: an angel on Larry Flynt Jr. because he looked so much like his
dad, it was weird.
BAW: Is there a part of the body you won't Tattoo and why?
Artist: the face...it would feel like I'm invading someone's spiritual space
BAW: Do you support supply co. that sells to the public?
Artist: no!!!
BAW: Do you feel there now should be mandatory schooling for soon to be tattoo
artists?
Artist: other than a professional apprenticeship...I don't know...
BAW: Do you feel Tattooing has changed over the years, and if so why?
Artist: yes, it has become more acceptable and main stream.
BAW: Do you think it is important to do as many conventions and shows as
possible?
Artist: I don't really care for those...I just really enjoy my own shop now.
BAW: What advise can you give to someone who is starting or looking to get
into the tattoo business?
Artist: work your ass off and pay your dues!
BAW: What could you say to someone who has had a bad first experience?
Artist: why didn't you come to me first?
BAW: Since you have started what changes have you seen in the industry?
Artist: women artists are respected more
BAW: How do you feel about apprenticeships?
Artist: it is a privilege to be a tattoo artist...so don't fuck it up!
BAW: Where do you think the Tattoo Industry is going today? Do you think it is
getting better or worse?
Artist: I think it's headed towards the malls and I'm really scared!
